i was trying to get a sense of liberation, freedom, or escape in this shot. the one thing (apart from prison or losing my legs) that scares the shit out of me more than anything else in terms of lack of freedom, is an office job. 8-10hrs a day sat down in a dry airless building, most likely staring at a screen of some sort, and nowhere near the countryside.
so, i guess, for me, if thats the least liberating thing i can think of then surely the polar opposite is the most liberating.

the white-collar pen-pusher gets his freedom in the end.

why, as a western area of the hemisphere, take a fucking good tip from the kingdom of bhutan, and start using a gross national happiness poll as a factor in politics? why can't we show the public true press from war-zones? why can't we see that "progress" isn't always upwards, and that we make hideous mistakes sometimes? civilization surely takes a turn for the worse when the majority of people spend most of the hours of the day sat behind a glorified plank staring at glass and liquid crystals. and thats one of our more socially accepted past-times. that's seen as living the dream.
