ha.
i love this.
the chinese had the great wall of china
the scots have hadrians wall
the welsh have a dyke.
king offa had a ditch dug for him, and a dyke running along it made from the soil that used to be in the ditch. here and there it was fortified, but realistically, probably with a couple of fence-posts and bindweed. it ran/runs the length of the border with wales, and it's purpose was to keep the welsh out. the sneaky welsh used to move the border posts (literally posts) a few feet every other night or so, and were taken to task on it a few times, until offa had the dyke built.
or, at least, thats how i think it went. the only thing that really made my day in history classes was finding out that in the domesday book, my hometown, bishops castle, is described as being "a place for vagrants and beggars"
it still is to this day, although most of them have enough money to drink in the pub each night.
anyway, a stitched three-photo shot, on two crosses, near mainstone, on the offa's dyke.

Lovely colors and great detail. I like how the shadows on the ground mimic the shapes of the clouds. I also like the way the fence swoops through the photo. It really gives the image some movement. Bravo!
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
